The Final Over: 10 Runs, 6 Balls, 1 Champion

The pressure was as high as ever with 10 runs required off the last six deliveries. DC turned to the young Sree Charani to save the team.

  • Ball 1: Radha Yadav took a sharp single to get off strike. (9 needed off 5).
  • Ball 2: Nadine de Klerk pushed a full delivery for another single. (8 needed off 4).
  • Ball 3: TURNING POINT. Under extreme pressure, Radha Yadav retreated and carved up a wide delivery across the extra-cover area in a beautiful boundary to deliver. (4 needed off 3).
  • Ball 4: THE FINISHER. Radha did not wait for the last ball. She found a full-length delivery to latch onto and sliced off it across the infield for another four straight, creating absolute chaos in the RCB dugout.

The "Hit-Wicket" Scare

The victory wasn’t without heart-breaking drama. As Radha hit the winning runs, the bails at the striker’s end fell to the ground. The DC players glorified a “hit-wicket” dismissal that would’ve kept the game alive for a brief, terrifying second. However, a third-umpire review showed that the gloves worn by the DC wicketkeeper Lizelle Lee had brushed the stumps unintentionally. The “Not Out” signal blared from the big screen, officially crowning RCB the 2026 Champions.

A Record-Breaking Night

Earlier, Smriti Mandhana (87 off 41) and Georgia Voll (79 off 54) had sewn together a 165-run partnership (the highest in WPL history). This victory also establishes RCB as the joint-most successful franchise in WPL history and a pair of title winning franchises in WPL history for RCB, with two titles (2024, 2026), along Mumbai Indians. For Delhi Capitals, it was a familiar tragedy, a fourth straight WPL final loss in their series.
