WPL 2026 Prize Money: RCB Wins ₹6 Crore, Mandhana Takes Orange Cap

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are now a force for women’s cricket in league history, claiming their second title in four years in Women’s Premier League. In an eye-watering final staged at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara, RCB chased down the Delhi Capitals (DC) for the highest ever total to pocket not just a trophy but a great deal of prize money in the end.

Prize Money: Winners and Runners-Up

The BCCI still keeps the incentive structure for the WPL lucrative thanks to consistency and performance under pressure.

  • Champions (RCB): For carrying the 2026 trophy, Smriti Mandhana's side were awarded a staggering ₹6 Crore.
  • Runners-Up (DC): The Delhi Capitals took home ₹3 Crore despite losing their fourth straight final.

But RCB’s top order wasn’t about to relent. Thanks to a masterclass by Smriti Mandhana and Georgia Voll, RCB were at 204/4 in 19.4 overs, achieving a win by six wickets. This win places RCB at par with Mumbai Indians who currently hold two WPL titles each.

Individual Awards: Stars of 2026

Beyond the team trophies, some players also stood out for their individual excellence in the tournament. Not the shy and lazy players who know what‘s up: All winners earn ₹5 Lakh in cash:

Award Winner Team Achievement
Orange Cap Smriti Mandhana RCB 377 Runs
Purple Cap Sophie Devine Gujarat Giants 17 Wickets
Most Valuable Player (MVP) Sophie Devine Gujarat Giants 255.5 MVP Points
Emerging Player of the Season Nandani Sharma Delhi Capitals 17 Wickets (Inc. Hat-trick)
Super Striker of the Season Grace Harris RCB 178.19 Strike Rate

Notable of these was Sophie Devine who (with the Gujarat Giants this season) won a rare and exciting "double" with her winning of not only the Purple Cap but also the MVP award, Smriti Mandhana also the first Indian captain to win the Orange Cap.

Historical Significance

With their victory, RCB has followed this year’s leading-edge performance as well, reflecting its plan for the shorter form is the best in the world. For Delhi Capitals, the “final jinx” is still open for debate, being a member in it all, since all four WPL final rounds reached since 2023 but we still haven’t found championship glory.
