A Memorable Answer to His Critics
Dhoni had faced questions about his batting form during the 2021 season. His performance against Delhi showed that he could still handle pressure and finish important matches.
He did not need a long innings to make an impact. His confidence, experience and ability to set boundaries at the right time made the difference.
Ruturaj Gaikwad was Player of the Match, but Dhoni's finishing skills became one of the biggest talking points after the game.
CSK Reach the IPL 2021 Final
The win against the fourth time out was Chennai Super Kings in the ninth IPL final. They had ended up at the bottom of the table in 2020 and were the only team to qualify for the final.
It’s five years later though, Dhoni’s performance is still one of the best performances in IPL history. His six-ball innings showed why fans trusted him in difficult situations.
It was more than just a win for CSK supporters. It was further proof that MS Dhoni delivered when they needed him most. It was another great reminder of Dhoni's presence of mind in the team when the team needed him most.
