China's Chang Bingyu won the biggest success of his professional career by defeating the then world No. 1 Zhao Xintong 10-7 in the Wuhan Open 2026 final to win his first snooker ranking title. The all-Chinese final was full of drama, tension and emotions with the 24-year-old holding his nerve at the end to win the biggest title of his career.

The Wuhan Open has now been won by Chinese players for three consecutive editions, underlining China’s growing influence on snooker in the world. The semifinals also showed different generations of Chinese talent with Xiao Guodong, Zhao and Chang representing players born over three different decades.
The historic victory for Chang is only the beginning. He thinks he has more to learn and he still has something to learn. He admitted that the gap between him and the world's top 16 is huge and he has to work on his mindset and composure.
