Bigg Boss 13 Star Himanshi Khurana Receives ₹10 Crore Extortion Threat; Links to Ranveer Singh Case Suspected

The actress and former Bigg Boss 13 contestant Himanshi Khurana has now been apparently blackmailed for ₹10 crore following a horrifying incident that has shook the lives in the Punjabi and Hindi entertainment communities. The extortion, which came in the form of a dark email and voice note, was also part of a recent trend of intimidation of high-profile Bollywood celebrities.

The threat: a foreign-based link?

On the 14th of February, Himanshi Khurana contacted the Mohali Police in a threatening email on her personal ID on Saturday, February 14, 2026. The email was sent with a voice note from a person who is saying that he is a "foreign-based gangster" says Saurav Jindal, Superintendent of Police (Investigation) of the department.

The sender apparently identified himself as Harry Boxer, known as a member of the infamous Lawrence Bishnoi gang, or linked himself with Zeeshan Akhtar a prominent alleged figure in the high-profile killing of Baba Siddique. The note asked directly for ₹10 crore and warned of violent consequences if not paid. The Mohali Police are moving swiftly, registering an FIR at Sohana Police Station in accordance with Sections 308(4) (extortion) and 351(3) (criminal intimidation) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

A Distant Pathway to the Ranveer Singh Case

The threat to Himanshi comes only days after actor Ranveer Singh and filmmaker Rohit Shetty were attacked in an almost identical fashion.

  • The Approach: Both cases used voice notes through WhatsApp and email, not a traditional phone call, likely in an effort to avoid immediate tracking through digital devices.
  • The “Lawrence Bishnoi” Shadow: Ranveer also claimed that the threat came from someone who had links with the Bishnoi gang.
  • Targeting the Inner Circle: The attackers in both cases alleged they have high-profile information about the celebrities’ staff and everyday plans, fueling the sense of intimidation.

Security Beefed Up

In the wake of a spate of threats including gunshots fired from outside Rohit Shetty’s home earlier this month Himanshi Khurana has had her security drastically tightened. The incident is part of a worrying trend in which Punjabi artists even singer B Praak have been subjected to similar ₹10 crore demands.

Police are using cyber-forensics to uncover the IP addresses from where the emails came in, they said. And while the suspects are believed to have been operating from abroad (most likely Canada or the U.A.E.), local agents are being tracked down in order to avoid immediate bodily injury to the actress.
