Ather Energy has introduced the new electric scooter in New Delhi, the Konarc. The electric scooter is available for a special introductory price of Rs 79,999 (ex-showroom, including subsidy), and is one of the company’s products for those who want a more accessible electric mobility option. Ather Konarc has various variants, an IDC range of up to 200km and a fifth-generation Bedrock battery pack with a 10-year warranty.
The new electric scooter will be available in Ather’s S and Z product lines, with six variants for customers. The different versions will be available for different customers with varying range requirements and feature preferences. Ather also announced that the delivery of a few of the Konarc variants will start in a phased manner. In Delhi-NCR the new model will be available alongside the company’s existing 450 series and Rizta electric scooters.
Ather Konarc Price And Variants
Ather Konarc has been launched in Delhi at a price of Rs 79,999. The price is ex-showroom and includes the subsidy. Ather is offering the electric scooter in six variants for S and Z models, giving buyers multiple models to choose from.
The company will launch deliveries in phases and some of the versions are due to be available first. The Konarc is another option in Ather’s electric scooter range for consumers who are looking for a combination of everyday usability, technology and longer claimed range.
Up To 200km IDC Range
Ather Konarc’s claimed range is one of the key features of the Ather Konarc. Depending on the variant the electric scooter is available with an IDC range of up to 200km. This could make the model suitable for customers who want an electric scooter for regular urban commuting as well as longer city rides.
The Konarc uses Ather’s fifth-generation Bedrock battery pack. The battery is covered by a warranty of 10 years or 1,00,000km, whichever comes first. Ather also guarantees a minimum 70 percent state of health for the battery at the end of the warranty period, providing an additional assurance to customers concerned about long-term battery performance.
Designed For Indian Road Conditions
Ather says the Konarc has been designed with Indian road conditions in mind and stability, comfort and everyday practicality are taken into account. The scooter has a 14-inch front alloy wheel and a 12-inch rear alloy wheel, along with a 1,352mm wheelbase.
The suspension setup is long-travel suspension at both ends, which is intended to help the scooter handle uneven roads and common urban road conditions. Additionally, the Konarc is a construction that Ather has developed. It is the first scooter with metal panels at the rear along with a steel unibody chassis.
The electric scooter also uses a sequential gear-drive transmission. This setup is designed to deliver smooth and quiet power delivery while maintaining the riding experience expected from an electric scooter, Ather said.
Ather Konarc New Features
The Konarc also introduces several new features to Ather’s scooter line: Advanced Electronic Braking System, or AeBS, MagicKey, AutoPop and AirWalk.
The AeBS system is designed to adjust braking force between the front and rear wheels according to the road conditions. It also helps to coordinate regenerative braking to assist with controlled deceleration and to regain energy during braking.
MagicKey is another technology feature on the new scooter. It is keyless and has SmartWake, automatic locking and remote scooter location. These features are intended to make everyday interaction with the scooter more convenient.
With its introductory price in Delhi, multiple variants, up to 200km IDC range and long battery warranty, the new Ather Konarc adds a new option to the company’s growing electric scooter portfolio. It will compete in a crowded electric two-wheeler market as Ather expands beyond the 450 series and Rizta to new models.
