A shocking murder case has been reported from Bengaluru’s Yelahanka area. A man allegedly killed a young employee after he found him with his 19-year-old daughter at their house. The victim (Kiran) was reportedly beaten up with a cricket bat and a pipe. Police have taken Anand (accused) into custody in connection with the incident.
The police said the incident took place in Yelahanka Police Station limits. Kiran (Kerala native) was working with Anand (Tamil Nadu native). They were associated with work related to making machines for sweet corn. Anand had employed Kiran and kept him working with him.
Accused Allegedly Found Kiran With His Daughter
Police said Kiran had become close friends with Anand’s 19-year-old daughter. The girl was studying in Mysuru and had returned home for a holiday.
Anand got angry after he learnt about Kiran and his daughter being friends. On the day of the incident, he allegedly told his wife that he was going to Tamil Nadu with her but, within a few hours, returned home.
When Anand entered the house, he allegedly found Kiran and his daughter in a room together. He then reportedly sent his daughter to a house in Chikkaballapur.
Kiran Allegedly Attacked With Bat and Pipe
Anand then sent his daughter away and allegedly attacked Kiran with a cricket bat and pipe. The police account is that the assault hit several parts of Kiran’s body (chest, abdomen).
Kiran collapsed after he was injured seriously and lost consciousness following the attack. Anand allegedly then arranged an autorickshaw and took him to hospital for treatment.
But doctors told them Kiran had died instead. The hospital then informed the police about the death.
Yelahanka Police Investigate Murder
The police went to the hospital after they got information about the death and started investigating. They found that it was murder, so further investigation had to be done.
Police questioned Anand, and the alleged assault came up during questioning. The accused was arrested later.
North-East Division Deputy Commissioner of Police G.K. Mithun Kumar told reporters here that the investigation started after police received information about a man dying at a hospital on Tuesday night.
The police are investigating the circumstances that led to the assault; the sequence of events inside the house; the relationship between the victim and accused’s daughter.
Victim and Accused Were Working Together
Investigators also found Anand and Kiran were related through work. Anand (who is originally from Tamil Nadu) was preparing machines for sweet corn businesses; Kiran (Kerala native) had been working with him.
The case has shocked people in Yelahanka area because the victim and accused knew each other as they were professionals (professional association).
Police are still investigating the full sequence of events and circumstances surrounding Kiran’s death. Allegations against Anand will be subject to legal process.
