Poco has expanded its M8 smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of the new Poco M8x 5G with a massive 7,900mAh battery, 120Hz display and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset.
The smartphone is being built around long battery life and everyday performance which makes it an interesting option for users who spend long hours on their phones.
Poco M8x 5G Price in India
The Poco M8x 5G has been launched in two versions. The 4GB RAM + 128GB storage model is priced at Rs 20,999 and the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model is priced at Rs 22,999. Poco also has a bank discount of Rs 2,000 as part of the launch offer.
The smartphone will be available for sale from August 27 at 12 PM IST on Flipkart in India in black, blue and Leather Green colour options. Leather Green is a vegan leather finish on the rear panel.
7,900mAh Battery Takes Centre Stage
The biggest highlight of Poco M8x 5G is its 7,900mAh battery. The phone supports 45W wired fast charging and also 22.5W wired reverse charging with compatible accessories and other devices by the smartphone.
Poco says the battery can provide up to 35 hours of social media scrolling, 27 days of messaging, 13 hours of GPS navigation and 64 hours of music playback on a single charge. These numbers are from the company’s testing and actual endurance can vary depending on usage.
Display and Performance
The Poco M8x 5G has a large 6.9-inch HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and Wet Touch 2.0 is used to make it more responsive when the display or user’s fingers are damp. The handset has an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.
Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset is powering the phone, which is based on a 4 nm process. Up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
Poco says the processor could run apps up to 43% faster and says that the phone has already crossed 650,000 points on AnTuTu.
Cameras and Software
In photography, the Poco M8x 5G has a dual rear camera with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel macro camera. There is an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls and 1080p video recording.
The phone is Android 16-based HyperOS 3. Poco has promised four OS upgrades and six years of security updates. There is also a triple cooling system to handle temperatures during demanding tasks.
With its huge battery, 120Hz display and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processor, the Poco M8x 5G will appeal to consumers who are looking for longer battery life but not so much to the premium smartphone game.
It will be the first time buyers will have their first chance to purchase the new phone on August 27.
