Ramya from Ramanagara had come to Hassan with her sister to seek blessings of Goddess Hasanamba. She had bought a special darshan ticket for ₹1,000 to visit the famous temple.

However, what was supposed to be a spiritual visit turned into an anxious moment when her gold bangle slipped out of her hand while she was standing in the queue for darshan.

Woman Loses Gold Bangle During Darshan Queue

Ramya was standing in the queue with her sister when the 30-gram gold bangle fell off her wrist somewhere in the temple premises.

The bangle was worth about ₹3 lakh, so her loss was very painful for the woman. Once Ramya realised that something had gone missing, she started looking around the temple premises where it could have been lost.

She reportedly went around the places where she walked while waiting for darshan to look for the valuable ornament, but nothing was found.

This incident caused great concern to Ramya, who had come from Ramanagara to visit the temple.

Revenue Department Staff Find the Missing Bangle

Meanwhile, a revenue department employee found the gold bangle inside the temple premises. Instead of keeping it, he handed it over to the authorities so that its owner could be traced.

The bangle was then given to Lakshminarayana, who was announcing things through the temple public-address system.

The temple announcement system became an important means of reconnecting the lost jewellery with its owner.

Public Announcement Helps Ramya Recover Her Jewellery

After receiving the bangle, Lakshminarayana announced through the microphone that a gold ornament had been found and asked the person who had lost it to come forward.

When Ramya heard the announcement, she ran up to the staff and said that she had lost her gold bangle while waiting for darshan.

The bangle was returned to her after the identification and confirmation were done.

Ramya was relieved to recover the jewellery, which weighed about 30 grams and was worth ₹3 lakh.

Revenue Staff Earn Appreciation for Honesty

The incident has brought into focus the honesty of revenue department employees working at the temple.

Thousands of devotees visit Hasanamba Temple every year during its annual opening period. Crowd control and assistance to visitors is difficult. Losing valuable belongings in such a crowded place can be very distressing for devotees.

The staff member handing over the recovered bangle and ensuring that it got to its rightful owner has been seen as public service and personal integrity.

The quick announcement through the microphone also prevented the jewellery from going unclaimed.

Hasanamba Temple Draws Devotees from Across Karnataka

The Hasanamba Temple in Hassan is one of Karnataka’s famous religious places. People from different parts of the state and neighbouring states visit the temple during a limited annual opening period every year.

Special arrangements for darshan and ticket facilities are made to accommodate the large number of visitors.

Ramya’s day ended happily because of the honesty of revenue department staff. What started as an upsetting loss of a precious gold ornament became a memorable example of kindness and responsibility during religious visit.

The incident reminds us that honesty and timely assistance can make all the difference in crowded public places.
