In a press conference held on Nov. 7, 2026, Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi, spokesperson for Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), warned that the country was prepared to unveil new military capabilities that could surprise the world if a third round of fighting with the United States and Israel takes place.
Mohebbi said the IRGC Aerospace Force had developed capabilities that could be deployed on the battlefield if another conflict broke out. He described them as “game-changing surprises” that would leave the world astonished.
Iran's military achievements and weapons production
During the press conference, Mohebbi outlined the achievements of the IRGC Aerospace Force, highlighting the development and localisation of aerospace technology, mass production of military equipment, expansion of defence exports and efforts to strengthen Iran's military self-sufficiency.
He said Iran had moved from importing aerospace military equipment to producing and exporting its own systems. He also highlighted the country's development of missiles, drones, electronic warfare capabilities and air-defence systems.
Mohebbi said military operations and weapons production had continued despite wartime conditions and enemy bombardment. He added that Iran had shifted missile and drone manufacturing to underground facilities, establishing what he described as underground "missile production cities" in addition to its existing missile storage facilities.
He also credited Iran's scientific expertise, industrial capabilities and domestic production infrastructure for strengthening its defence sector.
Captured military drones and battlefield claims
Mohebbi claimed that the IRGC Aerospace Force had intercepted and shot down more than 260 enemy aircraft and aerial vehicles during the recent US-Israeli conflict.
He also said Iranian forces had captured six MQM-170 reconnaissance drones intact over the preceding one or two weeks. These figures were presented as claims by the IRGC spokesperson and have not been independently verified.
Iran signals possible change in nuclear doctrine
In a separate statement to the IRGC-affiliated Fars news agency on Nov 7, Mohebbi addressed the possibility of Iran changing its nuclear doctrine.
Responding to a question about preparations in the event of a decision to change the country's nuclear policy, he said, "If the system concludes that it should move in that direction, we will establish the necessary readiness.”
He also said Iran was continuing to improve the range of its missiles, adding that there was no pause in that development.
Mohebbi's remarks come amid heightened tensions and new possible conflicts with Israel and the us
