The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has officially started the registration process for the IBPS RRB Recruitment 2026 and the number of positions in RRBs in India has grown to 13,706. Under CRP RRBs-XV, the recruitment drive will be conducted for Group ‘A’ Officer and Group ‘B’ Office Assistant jobs. It is one of the biggest banking recruitment drives of the year and is very interesting for the bankers aspiring to work in banking.
According to the official notification, online registration has started on September 1, 2026, and interested candidates can submit their applications through the official IBPS website until September 21, 2026. During this time period, application fee payment is also available. An application correction facility will also be available for two days after registration.
Vacancy Details
The 13,706 vacancies are distributed among multiple posts in Regional Rural Banks. The majority of vacancies are for Office Assistant (Multipurpose) positions, followed by Officer Scale-I positions.
Post-wise Vacancy Distribution:
Office Assistant (Multipurpose): 8,183 posts
Officer Scale-I (Probationary Officer): 4,256 posts
Officer Scale-II (Manager): 1,047 posts
Officer Scale-III (Senior Manager): 220 posts
These vacancies are spread across participating Regional Rural Banks in different states and union territories.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for the recruitment must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. Educational qualifications and experience are different for different post applications.
For Office Assistant (Multipurpose) candidates, age should be between 18 and 28 years. For Officer Scale-I posts, age is 18 to 30 years. Officer Scale-II candidates should be between 21 and 32 years, and Officer Scale-III applicants should be between 21 and 40 years. Age relaxations will be allowed for reserved category candidates as per government policy.
Application Fee
Candidates of General, OBC and EWS category will be required to pay an application fee of ₹850. For SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates, the fee has been fixed at ₹175. Applications can only be submitted online.
Selection Process
The selection process varies with the post.
For Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and Officer Scale-I, candidates must clear a Preliminary Examination and Main Examination. Office Assistant candidates are selected based on their performance in the examinations and subsequent allotment process. Officer Scale-I candidates may have additional stages as prescribed by IBPS. For Officer Scale-II and Officer Scale-III, candidates will appear for a single online examination followed by an interview.

IBPS has also released the tentative examination schedule for the recruitment process. Pre-Examination Training (PET) is expected to be conducted in November 2026.
