SBI Recruitment 2026: Deadline Extended for 2,273 Circle Based Officer Posts

Thousands of banking aspirants gain immense relief from the State Bank of India (SBI) announcement in a move that relieves thousands of pressure on them and the State Bank of India (SBI) also expands the online application process for Circle Based Officer (CBO) recruitment which will last till February 25, 2026.

Set to close on Feb. 18, the bank has now extended the deadline to Feb. 25, 2026. Recruiting is scheduled to finish by Mar. 2026. Advt. No. CRPD/CBO/2025-26/18 seeks to fill a total of 2,273 vacancies with 2,050 regular posts and 223 backlog posts in different circles in the country.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have at least two years of post-qualification working as an officer in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank.

  • Age limit: between 21 and 30 years old. (Age relaxation applies for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD categories as required by the government). 
  • Language: The candidate is expected to be fluent in the language of the local circle the applicant is applying for, read, write, and speak.

Selection Process

The selection is a comprehensive multi-stage process aimed at identifying the best-fit banking professionals:

  • Online Exam: An objective test 120 marks; a descriptive test 50 marks.
  • Screening: Document and job profile verifications.
  • Interview Face to face examination that is 50 marks each.
  • Language Test: A test of language abilities for those who did not learn the local language in 10th or 12th grade.

Those eligible can apply from official SBI Careers portal:

  • Visit sbi.co.in/web/careers.
  • Click on Current Openings and select Recruitment of Circle Based Officers.
  • Click on "Apply Online" and register.
  • Upload your required documents (Photo, Signature, ID Proof, Resume and Experience Certificates).
  • Pay the application fee (₹750 General/EWS/OBC; Nil SC/ST/PwBD).

Applicants should register first, as the online test is tentatively scheduled for March 2026, and candidates are advised to finish their registration ahead of time to avoid last moment server congestion.
