The misty hills of Coorg (Kodagu) were alive with celebration as “National Crush” Rashmika Mandanna and Telugu superstar Vijay Deverakonda hosted a grand wedding reception in the bride’s hometown. The couple returned to Virajpet after their private wedding to receive family and dignitaries in a traditional Kodava-style wedding that combined local heritage and cinematic glamour.
The Venue: Serenity Hall, Virajpet
The grand dinner party was held at the elegant Serenity Hall on Gonikoppal Road in Virajpet and turned into a floral paradise in the spirit of the “Scotland of India.” Unlike the high-profile celebrity parties, this reception was very intimate and focused on family, close childhood friends, and a few celebrities from the film industry and local government.
Tradition Meets Style
The couple’s attire was the best part of the evening. Rashmika Mandanna was in a beautiful Kodava saree, the Coorgi style with pleats at the back. Vijay Deverakonda was her perfect match, a dignified one and a reflection of the local culture which resonated with people. The couple’s display together in traditional wear has already set social media on fire and their followers are proud of the commitment to local customs.
A Father’s Grand Gesture: A Luxury Villa Gift
The night was filled with love and emotion when Rashmika’s father Madan Mandanna presented the newlywed couple with an awesome wedding gift. In a big gesture of affection, he bought Rashmika a beautiful bungalow in the middle of nature in Coorg. This sprawling estate is lush in greenery and coffee plantations and has world-class facilities but still has the rustic personality of a traditional Coorgi manor.
A Feast for the Senses. No Coorgi event is complete without its legendary cuisine. The Mandanna family had a special Kodava feast for the guests. The famous Kadamittu (steamed rice balls), Noolputtu, and a very good selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes made with local spices were the main dishes on the menu. The rustic taste of Coorg ended the high-profile festival.
Homecoming for the Star
For Rashmika, this reception was more than a party: it was a homecoming. Returning to Virajpet as a bride brought her back to her roots and then to her busy filming schedule in Hyderabad and Mumbai. The couple went to local temples the next morning to seek blessings and start their new journey together, so it was a serene start for them.
As the 'ViRosh' fever is still prevalent in the country, this little but grand affair in the heart of Karnataka is a tribute to heritage and family values.
