The film-goers forecast for the March 2026 season, for whatever reason, has been changed overnight. After Yash was officially stalled, he said he found the route ahead for Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
The Aditya Dhar’s spy sequel is hitting all the country’s box office marks, dipping its toe into the $100,000 mark (approx. ₹83 lakh) for North American advance bookings a whopping 15 days to book right before its upcoming March 19, 2026 release.
The “Toxic” Exit: Middle East War Reshapes Release
In a move that flapped the industry on Wednesday, the creators of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups announced that they were moving their release to June 4, 2026 from March 19. The lead actor and co-producer Yash made the "current uncertainty in the Middle East" the primary reason explaining why the region is an important market for global roll-out of the film.
Toxic’s departure marks the conclusion of a much-hyped clash known as “Dhuroxic,” providing Dhurandhar 2 with a huge solo window on the festive weekend of Gudi Padwa, Ugadi and Eid-al-Fitr.
North American Pre-Sales Surge
With the competition removed, Dhurandhar 2 has seen a rise in pre-sales across the United States and Canada. Early Milestone: The film hit the $100K mark Wednesday, Sacnilk said in a report on its trade.
- Premiere Power: Of this total, nearly $70,000 has come specifically from Wednesday night premiere screenings scheduled for March 18.
- Chasing Records: Trade insiders say Dhurandhar 2 is inching its way to break the opening record set by Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal ($1.2 million).
What You Can Expect from “The Revenge”
The sequel to the 2025 blockbuster which grossed more than ₹1,300 crore globally aims for even greater scale.
- The Plot: Ranveer Singh reappears onscreen as Hamza Ali Mazari, otherwise known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, carrying on his undercover enterprise of infiltrating Karachi's criminal underworld.
- The Length: Rumours have it that it will last 235 minutes (3 hours 55 minutes) making this one of longest movies ever made on Indian soil.
- The Cast: R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt and Sara Arjun are among the movie's main cast - though a special flashback is in Akshaye Khanna's role.
A Possible ₹70 Crore Opening?
In India, solo release status has really upped the opening day numbers. Whereas earlier estimates in a clash scenario have been somewhere around ₹50 crore, trade experts now reckon a ₹70 crore+ domestic opening is well-inside reach, could even take Jawan by storm after him as all-time biggest Bollywood opener.
With the online trailer set for a digital drop later in the day, however, Dhurandhar 2 looks set to hit audiences everywhere this spring; and no conflict is in the cards, Dhurandhar 2 would seem likely to clear the global box office even if Aditya Dhar's "Spy-Verse" is free online to block through tomorrow.
