The "Mega" family is marking the birth of a grand addition into their genealogy. Global Star Ram Charan and his wife, entrepreneur Upasana Konidela, have given birth to twins—a baby boy and a baby girl. As the grandpa, Megastar Chiranjeevi, said in a warm social media address on January 31, 2026.
The Grandfather’s Announcement
Chiranjeevi went on X (previously Twitter) to express the family’s thanks and happiness. In a write up that went viral almost immediately, he wrote that both the newborns and the mother are in great health. We can say that with great joy and very special thanks for that @AlwaysRamCharan and @upasanakonidela have been blessed with twins – a baby boy and a baby girl!

Double Surprise since Diwali
While the couple had kept the details of the pregnancy pretty private, during Diwali 2025, fans started speculation. Upasana had uploaded a snippet of the footage of her Seemantham (baby shower) and captioned it like this: “This Diwali was all about double the celebration, double the love and double the blessings” which many correctly interpreted as an indication of twins.
Growing Konidela Legacy
The arrival of a grandson has very special sentimental worth for the family. Earlier in public, Chiranjeevi had jokingly referred to his desire for a “successor” who should inherit the family’s storytelling legacy, adding that he had lived in a “ladies’ hostel” with so many granddaughters. When both a boy and a girl join, it is a new and balanced chapter that the family is celebrating.
