Tamil-language film star Malavika Mohanan got some new insight into her new Tamil movie Pocket Novel, which is already in progress and a lot of buzz started around it among moviegoers. Vijay Sethupathi is in the film, directed by praised Thiagarajan Kumararaja, and it focuses on the story behind the film using unusual storytelling. Malavika says she is really looking forward to the movie. She said she shared that fun, great, creative process of the shoot with the team.
“Thiagarajan Kumararaja is one of the best filmmakers of our generation,” she said (as she explains working on set) as she describes how they did that collaboration and it seems like the movie is turning out to be great. “The whole team is very dedicated to putting forth the story as much as it’s ever gotten from a technical standpoint as it would be,” she said.
Pocket Novel details are yet to be released, and although the availability of Vijay Sethupathi’s acting is not yet announced, Vijay Sethupathi's versatile image of acting has raised several expectations and Kumararaja's unique storytelling style has taken it to another level, he has taken it further even to build more.
It is widely forecasted in the film (from what might be some years since the other Tamil movies of this year will not disappoint such, especially in Tamil audiences who fancy a content-oriented film in its target niche. Malavika Mohanan, from her ever present presence for much of this year, continues to gain some extra features on the list. She’s had screen time with big actors over the years in the roles of Mohanlal, Dulquer Salmaan, Dhanush, Vijay, Prabhas and others.
She has successfully combined commercial entertainers with content projects and has been a huge force in Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi cinema. With Pocket Novel, Malavika will be gearing up for Sardar 2 as she is also starring in it alongside Karthi.
In the wake of the movie version of that one having been successful, it’s the sequel with plenty of expectations; she knows it will be another milestone in her films which will follow soon. There are several high profile films coming in 2026, so it will be a crucial year for Malavika Mohanan.
