Sandalwood's evergreen actress and former Congress MP, Ramya, recently spoke to the media, offering her thoughts on the ongoing leadership discussions and 'chair-sharing' issue within the Karnataka Congress.
When questioned about the multiple names being floated for the Chief Minister's position in the Congress party, Ramya responded with a smile, stating clearly, "I am not the one to decide this. The High Command will take the decision. Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and K.C. Venugopal will make the determination. Senior leaders will discuss and decide. I am okay with whoever becomes the CM. My only wish is that it should be good for the state."
When asked if the party was facing increased confusion, Ramya laughed and replied, "All that is part of politics. All the leaders are qualified. My hope is that whoever comes should strengthen the party and bring development to the state. I will abide by whatever decision the High Command takes."
Support for Nishvika Naidu
Ramya also weighed in on the statement by actress Nishvika Naidu, who said that even if a woman is naked, a man should not dare to look at her. Ramya stated that Nishvika's comment was "absolutely true" (Shatasathya).
"Women have the same rights as men. You wear whatever clothes you like and move around... why shouldn't we? Women also have freedom. If anyone doesn't like it, they should refrain from commenting on social media. Everyone has the right to express their opinion, but it should not be used for harassment," Ramya said, speaking in support of Nishvika.
Confirms Comeback to Films
Touching upon her return to the film industry alongside her political endeavors, Ramya revealed that she has listened to around 40-50 scripts over the past few months.
"I really liked one script. That director has already delivered a hit movie, and working with them has been a long-time dream of mine. I won't reveal who or which film yet, but the announcement will be made soon," she said, giving sweet news to her fans.
On the same occasion, Ramya wished actor Darshan well for his upcoming film, ‘Devil: The Rebel Warrior.’ "Darshan always creates a storm. I wish this film becomes a huge hit," she added.
