Purana Qila will be the central venue where museums, art foundations, galleries, collectors and creative organisations from India and abroad meet. It is meant to be a platform where contemporary artistic expression meets India’s historical and architectural heritage.

The Biennale is presented by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. It follows on from the inaugural India Art, Architecture and Design Biennale (2023–24).

India Biennale 2026 Ticket Prices

One of the major attractions for visitors is that there will be one Biennale Pass — instead of buying tickets for participating monuments and exhibitions separately, visitors will be able to use this pass to access all venues and public programmes covered by the event.

The official ticketing website lists five pass categories:

Ticket Type Validity Price
One Day Pass 1 Day ₹100
Three Day Pass 3 Days ₹200
Week Pass 7 Days ₹400
Season Pass Full Season ₹3,000
Premium Pass Full Season ₹10,000

Each pass admits one person and has an individual QR code. Premium Pass provides additional benefits (parking, guided walkthroughs and volunteer support).

The One Day Pass might be suitable for visitors planning a short visit, and the Three Day or Week Pass allows more time to see different locations. Visitors who want to attend exhibitions and programmes throughout the event should consider the Season Pass.

On the official ticket portal, you can choose and buy passes. Visitors should check terms and access details before booking

What Can Visitors Expect?

The India Biennale 2026 will present exhibitions, installations, performances, guided walks, screenings, talks and cultural encounters. The programme will include forms of creative expression such as traditional crafts, architecture, visual art, digital installations and immersive experiences.

Several cultural institutions, foundations and creative organisations will present at the event (Bihar Museum, Serendipity Arts Foundation, Devi Art Foundation, Gujral Foundation, DRONAH Foundation and other participating organisations).

Some of the presentations announced include DAG’s Anant: A Rare 18th Century Mahabharata Scroll, Devi Art Foundation’s The Infinite Circle and Gujral Foundation’s The Eternal Fold at Lodhi Garden. Projects on cultural memory; architecture, heritage and community traditions are also part of the programme.

The Student Biennale will offer emerging creative voices a platform – students and young practitioners will have opportunities to present ideas and engage with the wider creative community.

What Is the Theme of India Biennale 2026?

The central theme is Tat Tvam Asi (You Are That) — an Upanishadic insight that speaks of the relationship between the individual and the world around them — people, communities, nature, culture, and shared heritage.

The curatorial approach also includes four ideas: Reflection, Rejuvenation, Renewal and Resilience. With these themes, the Biennale wants visitors to slow down, observe their surroundings more closely and engage with art and public space in a deeper way.

The organisers hope to bring traditional and modern creative practices together, showing how India’s cultural heritage can interact with contemporary artistic ideas.

How to Book India Biennale 2026 Tickets

Visitors can purchase passes from the official India Biennale website. The booking portal lets them select pass category that corresponds to their plan of visit.

The official website also contains information about venues, exhibitions, and programmes to come. An India Biennale mobile app is being promoted to help visitors get passes, explore participating locations and plan visits.

Since the event is held at various locations in Delhi, it would be better to plan rather than try and visit every venue in one day.

Why India Biennale 2026 Is Worth Visiting

Bringing art into historic monuments, museums, gardens and public spaces will provide a different way of experiencing Delhi, says India Biennale. It will give visitors opportunities to see contemporary creativity alongside the city’s architectural and cultural heritage.

Entry is cheap (₹100), and a season pass (₹3,000) is available. Art lovers, students, tourists, architects, designers and families are expected to attend the event.

For anyone interested in India’s art, architecture, design and cultural traditions, the India Biennale 2026 promises an extensive programme across the national capital between December 4, 2026 and March 21, 2027.
