The President appreciated the Indian community’s role in promoting India’s heritage, culture and democratic values on the global stage. She encouraged the diaspora to continue serving as ambassadors of India while contributing positively to Romania’s development.
Her State Visit included high-level meetings with Romanian leaders aimed at increasing cooperation in education, digital technology, renewable energy, defense, and trade. The visit shows India's increasing engagement with European countries as part of its broader foreign policy objectives.
President Murmu also appreciated the warm and hospitable reception from the Romanian government and Indian community for her visit. She said the friendship between India and Romania is rooted in mutual respect, democratic values and a common vision for sustainable development.

The government should take the recognition from President Murmu and the people of overseas Indians and their contribution to India’s global image very seriously.
As India continues to build its global partnerships, overseas Indians are increasingly important. President Murmu’s visit to Romania is an example of the importance of diaspora diplomacy to strengthen international cooperation and build long-lasting friendships between countries.
