Trump has endorsed the deal, which he called a historic agreement with Hamas and all the other armed groups that are present today, that will see Hamas and all the other armed groups in the Gaza Strip dismantled. The proposal, Trump said, represents a major step forward in the process of achieving long-term peace and stability in this conflict-ridden region as international cooperation, peace and stability, phased military changes and a new governance framework are being created.
The announcement came on Trump’s social media site, Truth Social, and he said the deal had been reached by the Board of Peace, an international organization established in early 2026 to oversee Gaza's post-war governance, security and reconstruction.
Plan calls for complete disarmament
Trump said the agreement gives Hamas and all other armed factions in Gaza a complete disarmament offer from Hamas and all other terrorist organizations in Gaza. He said the move is a first step toward ending years of violent history and that Gaza will no longer be a stage for future militant attacks from then on.
Trump argued the agreement is aimed at keeping peace and the stability of the territory so it is able to rebuild over decades of conflict.
Israeli Withdrawal Linked to Disarmament
Under that plan, Israeli military forces would withdraw from Gaza in phases as the disarmament process progresses.
Trump said that once weapons are surrendered and security conditions improve, responsibility for maintaining law and order would gradually shift to an International Stabilisation Force, working alongside a newly established Palestinian police force.
This security structure, according to the proposed agreement, would guarantee the safety of Gaza residents and neighboring countries and prevent the return of armed militant groups.
New Palestinian Government Planned
One of the key parts of the agreement is a new Palestinian administration to govern Gaza.
Trump said the future government would work closely with the Board of Peace to ensure reconstruction and governance, public services, as well as rebuild infrastructure that was destroyed during the war.
He described the project as an important component of his broader 20-Point Plan to resolve the Gaza crisis and promote long-term regional stability.
International Support and Mediation
Trump also expressed gratitude to several countries that had helped to broker the deal.
He also thanked Egypt, Qatar and Türkiye for their mediation efforts and also acknowledged members of his administration who were involved in the negotiations leading to the reported agreement.
The Board of Peace, which was founded earlier this year, was established as an international framework to coordinate humanitarian assistance, reconstruction projects, governance reforms and security arrangements in Gaza.
No immediate response from Hamas
Despite Trump's announcement, Hamas had no immediate public response to the agreement at the time of the announcement, confirming or commenting on it.
Without official confirmation from Hamas or other parties, the implementation timeline and practical details of the proposed disarmament are not yet well-defined.
The conflict continues on the ground
It’s a welcome announcement that the conflict continues in Gaza.
Palestinian medical officials said Israeli air strikes killed at least six people, including two children, a sign of the continued humanitarian disasters as well as the diplomatic crisis.
The continuing violence reflects how difficult it is to implement a long-lasting ceasefire and any future political peace.
A Significant but uncertain solution
The proposed agreement, if implemented, could be one of the most significant developments in the Israel-Gaza conflict in recent years. The combination of militant disarmament, Israeli withdrawal, international security monitoring and a new Palestinian administration is a long-term plan for Gaza’s future.
However, the proposal will be successful with most of the world’s stakeholders if it is accepted by all of them, if international cooperation works well and if peace is maintained on the ground.
