Several properties have been targeted with a JCB, local residents have claimed.

Amit Kumar Ranu's brother, Sonu Singh, has been named as a key accused in the case. Police have also brought the MLA's name into the case during the investigation. The development has increased the political significance of the matter because Ranu is a sitting legislator from Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas).

Police to pursue Legal Action

According to the information gathered from the investigation, police are preparing to approach the court for an arrest warrant. The case could be significantly shifted by this step and could potentially see further questioning or arrest of the MLA.

The police investigation is focused on determining the circumstances surrounding the alleged demolition and establishing the role of each accused person. Papers and other material gathered during searches conducted as part of the probe are also being considered, it said.

Police had earlier searched the MLA’s residence. Documents were found in the search, including illegal stamp papers and bank records, and all these documents were seized, investigators said. The significance of the evidence will be determined by the investigation and any subsequent proceedings before the court.

The recovery of documents has added another dimension to the case and investigators will assess whether the material has any connection to the disputed land transactions or other matters under investigation.

Land dispute takes political turn

Land disputes involving elected representatives will often attract significant political attention if the accusations are of force, demolition, or intimidation. In this case, a sitting MLA has brought the Muzaffarpur dispute into the wider political arena.

The case will also be closely watched because Amit Kumar Ranu is associated with Chirag Paswan’s party. Any further legal action against the legislator could therefore have political repercussions for the party in Bihar.

At this stage, the allegations are still under investigation. The registration of an FIR and the reported move to seek an arrest warrant do not establish guilt as such by themselves. The allegations against the MLA and other accused persons will have to be examined through due legal process.

Investigation Continues In Muzaffarpur

Police are still investigating land encroachment and demolition incidents in the Ayapur police station area. Witness statements, documentary evidence, and other material associated with the disputed property will be studied by investigators, and further action will be taken.

The court will decide whether to grant an arrest warrant at the police’s request and what kind of outcome will be favorable to the court’s decision and the investigation.

The case has been added to political and legal developments in Bihar and will no doubt be the focus as investigations continue. Any further action taken by Amit Kumar Ranu, his brother Sonu Singh, or other accused persons could lead to the next stage of the land dispute case.

The police investigation is still ongoing, and investigators are still trying to piece together the sequence and the alleged roles of those involved in the case. The case will be under scrutiny as the legal process goes on.
