A gruesome case of a man sexually assaulting a woman customs officer and extorting dozens of officials from a government station came to light in Bengaluru when he was arrested. The police have been investigating the perpetrator, Krupalani, who they claim committed the crime and have unearthed a pattern of deceit and abuse to date, the police reported.
Police figures have accused Krupalani of sexually assaulting women in the GST and customs departments. He had been attempting to mingle with the women by posing as a professional contact, building a professional relationship, for instance, regular phone conversations and regular meetings.
Bit by bit, he had begun to earn their trust by eating with them and attending social occasions, showing himself as a trustworthy friend. Investigators say Krupalani had professed love and promised the women to marry them in the earliest steps of approaching these women. He never took one and was always busy “getting close” to them, they say. And in this guise is accused of starting with the body, which they said would cause them to believe so-called sexual conquests.
But the relationship did not end there, police claim he would later utilise images or videos of them, which he used to blackmail and intimidate the victims. He wasn’t just supposed to work with women, according to the authorities. Another way, apparently, targeted male officials. Krupalani would have figured out departmental loopholes, the flow of work in the department, and whatnot, other details of the irregularities, according to the report.
Having gained this information, he was said to have pressured officials and interfered with their work, effectively turning officials into his subjects for their benefit, or for his own use. Investigators have been most worried (and not in particular shocked) by the extent of this alleged operation. Preliminary indications are that upwards of 50 officials could have taken part in various types of blackmail, although this figure has yet to be confirmed.
Police are now contacting and inviting potential victims to come forward in this regard. The case has also attracted attention due to the alleged behaviour of the accused while in custody. Krupalani is said to have disrupted at a hospital when examined, taken a police officer’s mobile phone and verbally assaulted workers.
Additionally, the accusation against him during the incident is another case against him that is recorded against him at VV Puram Police Station for threatening incidents. Assistant Commissioner of Police Geetha, the official investigating the case, said investigators are pursuing digital evidence, including electronic devices, communications logs and even media that could be involved in blackmail.
No matter what, officials say the investigation continues, and the whole scheme is being fully investigated. Any part of the community who may have been placed in danger is welcome to come forward and help with the investigation, the police said, promising to keep information confidential and provide support.
This case brings out numerous critical concern topics: trust abuse and exploitation, digital exploitation at professional offices, professionals’ vulnerability to targets in some of their personal relationships, etc. The case said the authorities will probably find out about how much of a network was on the network and how it was operated. It does the same in fact, it sends out an alert to all working in a work arena: just go out and see the same.
