In the disturbing and shocking case, a cyber center owner in Bengaluru’s Kengeri region was arrested for verbally abusing and issuing death threats to a young female employee. The story, happening on a crowded street, has outraged residents and social media users.
The accused, who is Syed, the owner of Muskan Times Cyber Center, was arrested by the Kengeri police following his public shaming when he threatened to murder an employee who told him that she was leaving her job.
The Root of the Conflict
The victim, a young woman named Lakshmi (name changed), had been a committed employee of the cyber centre for a period of nearly five years. She was also said to be a consistent backbone for the small business. But recently, though, tension started to build since Lakshmi went on some personal leave for a few days. The police sources said Syed was furious at her absence, saying his business was struggling and he was losing money. After Lakshmi, upset by all the pressure he was putting on her, made this a point and told him she wanted to leave the job, Syed had a violent reaction.
The public assault: "I will strip you and kill you."
Things came to a head late on the evening of Jan. 22, 2026, at 7:30 PM. Lakshmi was reportedly intercepted in Kengeri in the middle of a public street by Syed. He, out of rage, started throwing vile, unprintable abuses at her. Witnesses at the scene said Syed reportedly screamed, “If you try to leave, I will strip you of your clothes and beat you. I will cut you down right here on the road." He continued his tirade, shouting about how much money he lost and telling her not to "test his patience" or "give him tension."
Public Intervention and Police Action
The plain malice and slandering of Syed's language attracted an audience of locals. Shaken by the owner’s arrogance, bystanders intervened to guard the young woman. A few local residents asked Syed to be polite and called the Kengeri Police on the spot. The police came quickly to the scene and apprehended Syed. Based on Lakshmi's complaint, a case was registered, claiming criminal intimidation and outraging a woman's modesty.
Station Bail and Community Outrage
Upon arrest, the accused was questioned at the station. But since he was bailable for sections under which he was booked, Syed was eventually released on station bail. That has generated anxiety for both the victim’s family and the rest of the community that fear retaliation will not end there.
Legal experts and women’s rights activists in the city have denounced the incident, adding that five years of service should have earned the employee respect and not life-threatening abuse. Kengeri police has reassured everyone that they’re investigating the matter and Lakshmi has been offered the help. It is also a serious call for stronger workplace protection legislations of which even small businesses do not rise above the whims and "arrogance" of their bosses.
