A private school in Yelahanka has come under criticism after a Class 1 student was allegedly punished for arriving two minutes late to school. The incident reportedly took place at Chaitanya School, located near Attur Layout close to Dabba Cross.
According to the child’s parents, the young student was made to stand in the hot sun for nearly two hours as punishment for reaching school slightly late. The parents claimed the incident caused significant distress to the child.
The issue escalated when the parents approached the school management to question the punishment. They alleged that instead of addressing the concern, the school principal responded in a harsh manner, which further angered the family.

Parents have expressed concern about the strict disciplinary measures being used on very young children, particularly students in lower classes who may not fully understand such punishments. They say schools should prioritize the well-being and safety of students while maintaining discipline.
The incident has sparked discussions among local residents and parents about appropriate disciplinary practices in schools, especially when it involves children as young as six years old.
As of now, there has been no official statement from the school administration regarding the allegations. It remains unclear whether the matter will be taken up by education authorities or local officials.
The case highlights growing concerns among parents about student welfare, humane disciplinary practices, and accountability in private schools.
