Bengaluru motorists are advised to plan carefully as the Karnataka Ministers' Oath-Taking Ceremony is scheduled for today at Lok Bhavan. In view of the high-profile event, the Bengaluru Traffic Police have placed traffic restrictions, diversions, parking regulations, and a temporary ban on heavy vehicles in many parts of Bengaluru.
According to the traffic advisory of Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Karthik Reddy, there will be road traffic control from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and heavy vehicles in Bengaluru city limits will not be allowed to move within city limits from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Roads Closed for Traffic
On the following stretches, traffic will be prohibited except for vehicles with valid event passes:
- Cubbon Road from BRV Junction to CTO Junction, up to Lok Bhavan. Balekundri Junction towards Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Road.
- Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Road from KR Circle to Coffee Board Junction. Queens Junction towards CTO Junction.
- St. Mark's Road leading to CTO Junction.
These restrictions are put in place to facilitate smooth movement for dignitaries visiting the swearing-in ceremony.
Alternate Routes for Commuters
To minimize inconvenience, Bengaluru Traffic Police have suggested several alternate routes:
- The vehicles travelling from BRV Junction towards CTO and Lok Bhavan should enter Shivajinagar and continue through Anil Kumble Junction.
- Motorists coming from Queens Road and Shivajinagar can use Cunningham Road via Balekundri Junction.
- Vehicles coming from KR Circle towards Coffee Board Junction should use Nrupathunga Road.
- Those coming from Queens Junction to Lok Bhavan should enter Anil Kumble Junction and BRV Junction.

Police have suggested that they not park cars along these roads and highways to permit traffic to flow and security to be maintained.

Public Advisory
Traffic police have advised commuters to avoid the central business district during the restriction period whenever possible and use Metro services or public transport to reduce congestion. Drivers driving through central Bengaluru must leave early and follow the diversion signs, and traffic police officers stationed in central Bengaluru should follow them, they said.
The restrictions will remain in place until the oath-taking ceremony is complete and dignitaries leave the ceremony.
