A 19-year-old youth died of electric shock when he was cleaning solar panels at a petrol bunk in Chandakapur village near Basavakalyan taluk in Bidar district, after being shocked by electricity in a move that has triggered protests and anger from family members of the deceased in Basavakalyan taluk, he said.
The deceased is Amit, 19, of Manthala village. The accident took place at a petrol bunk located near Chandakapur village, which falls under the jurisdiction of Basavakalyan Rural Police Station.
The petrol bunk is owned by Anil Ragate, who is the president of the Basaveshwara Temple Panch Committee in Basavakalyan city.
Youth Dies While Cleaning Solar Panels
Amit had joined the petrol bunk for filling petrol and diesel work, the newspaper reported. But his family members claim that he was asked to clean the solar panels installed on the roof of the petrol bunk building.
It was during the solar panel cleaning work that Amit came into contact with electricity. He suffered a severe electric shock and died on the spot.
The circumstances of the accident have led to questions among the deceased's family members about the type of work Amit was asked to do after he joined the petrol bunk.
Family Accuses Petrol Bunk Management
