The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Art and Cultural Cell is organizing a painting programme as part of the party's 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan', a campaign to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 25 years in public life.
The painting activity will be part of the larger programme organised by the BJP to commemorate the achievement. It combines political outreach and art, and the participants will be painting themes of Modi’s public and political journey.
The BJP has announced a month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan from September 17 to October 17, 2026, with activities in different parts of the country. The campaign is connected to Modi completing 25 years in public office, starting from his time as Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001 and going up to his tenure as Prime Minister from 2014.
Painting Programme highlights the role of Art
The painting programme organised by the Art and Cultural Cell allows the participants to express themselves through visual art.
People with various artistic styles and themes can portray aspects of public service, governance, national development and India’s changing social landscape. Such programmes also provide an opportunity for artists and young participants to adopt current public themes through creative work.
The BJP’s wider campaign includes various activities for students, young people and the public. Painting and speech competitions are among the programmes announced as part of the month-long initiative.
Seva Sankalp Abhiyan Across India
The BJP has announced the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan as a nationwide programme in the name of Modi’s 25 years in public life. The campaign will be carried out through blood donation and cleanliness drives, as well as educational competitions, street plays and citizen engagement programmes.
The campaign will begin on September 17, Modi’s birthday, and last until October 17. The BJP has said it is to highlight Modi’s public service journey and to share information about government schemes and programmes.
The campaign will involve BJP workers and participation at different organisational levels. In Karnataka, the state BJP also announced a month-long programme with many activities related to the campaign as well.
Art as Public Engagement Medium
The painting programme adds a cultural dimension to the campaign. Art programmes can give participants an opportunity to talk about ideas without the need to speak in speeches or written form and to get into it in a way that they can be sure to convey ideas they have not said in a public speech.
Through paintings, the students can show subjects associated with public life, national identity, development and social initiatives. The format can also push students and younger participants to express themselves in creative ways.
The BJP’s national campaign will also include street plays, competitions and other cultural and educational activities. They are aimed at people beyond political meetings and public gatherings.
25 Years in Public Life
Modi became Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001, and became Prime Minister of India in 2014. The BJP is marking the 25-year anniversary through the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
The campaign will have many programmes planned over the coming weeks. In addition to artistic activities, service projects, public engagement programs, rallies and other events are also on the calendar.
The painting programme organised by the BJP Art and Cultural Cell is therefore part of a larger campaign combining service-oriented activities with cultural, educational and public outreach initiatives.
As the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan progresses, such programmes will provide participants with opportunities for them to engage with public service and national development through creative expression.
