CBSE Class 10 Second Board Result 2026 Delayed: 6.68 Lakh Students Still Waiting After Nearly 50 Days

More than 50 days after the end of the CBSE Class 10 second board examination, lakhs of students across the country are still waiting for their results and no official announcement from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on the declaration date.

The delay has left around 6.68 lakh students and their parents anxious, especially when schools have already started– or in many cases completed– the admission process for Class 11. Many students who appeared for the second board examination to improve their scores fear the prolonged wait could affect their academic plans and future opportunities.

On May 15, 2026, the second board examination, conducted for the first time with the new CBSE system of examination, was held. This new system would give the students more time for improvements, without extra exams. But more than two months since the exams were over and no official update has been given to the students yet, it's been frustrating.

Students Voice Frustration on Social Media

As there is uncertainty, students and parents have taken to social media platform X to seek answers from the board.

Some users asked why CBSE has not even announced a tentative date for when the results will be coming out.

One parent wrote that children have been checking the CBSE website repeatedly without any information, adding that earlier reports had suggested the results could be declared by the end of June.

Another user questioned the reasoning behind releasing the results so late. Many students have already achieved admission to Class 11 based on their first board examination results, selected their academic streams and even begun to attend classes.

Others said that while this was not a major issue, students waiting for better marks before they can apply to universities and colleges didn’t seem to be able to get that.

One social media user wrote that the improvement examination was held in mid-May, but by mid-July the results were still unavailable, making it difficult for students to complete their admission process.

Several others also criticised the board’s lack of communication and urged CBSE to provide at least some expected timeline to reduce uncertainty among students.

Admission Worries Continue

The delay has become notable since the second board examination was introduced with greater flexibility for students to improve their academic performance.

Many candidates had hoped to use their revised marks to enter their preferred streams in Class 11. But with schools already moving on as a result of the new academic year, students fear the delayed results may limit their options.

Parents were also worried that uncertainty is adding unnecessary stress at a critical time of their children’s education.

Education experts have previously mentioned that the timely declaration of examination results is important to a smooth transition between academic sessions.

No Official Update Yet

Despite strong criticism and continuous questions from students, CBSE has not given any official notification on the date of the Class 10 second board examination result declaration.

And yet the board has not commented on the reason for the delay.

Students who have appeared for the exam are advised to keep updated on the official CBSE website for the time being and not just go on unofficial reports or social media speculation.

There are thousands of students waiting for clarity and admissions are already up and running in schools, and we are growing increasingly optimistic that the board will release the results soon to help students with their academic aims and plans, and help students get into school.
