In a landmark development in the ongoing student demonstrations in the capital, Saurav Das, the Chief Spokesperson of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), announced that the central government has called the party's leadership for another round of high-level talks.
In front of the media and protesting students, Das hailed the government's invitation to meet as a breakthrough for the youth movement, and said the sit-in campaign would go on until written commitments are made. “We’ve been called at 3:30 pm. We’re not going anywhere until all of our demands are met and they give them in writing. Now we have such a victory,” CJP Chief Spokesperson Saurav Das said. A firm stance on written commitments.

This comes after talks between CJP representatives and Union Ministers. CJP spoke out at the past meeting in which they gave a three-point charter of demands: Resignation of the Union Education Minister: Unconditional resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for examination management problems.
Removal of police cases: Drop of all FIRs filed against student activists and protesters.
Withdrawal of Police Cases: Immediate dropping of all FIRs filed against student activists and protesters.
Ex-Gratia Compensation: Compensation of ₹1 crore towards families of NEET aspirants who died by suicide.
The government indicated in principle that it would withdraw legal cases and offer compensation, but CJP leadership said verbal promises are insufficient for a 35-day protest.
Tensions High at Jantar Mantar. The invitation for 3:30 PM talks follows increased security around the main protest hub at Jantar Mantar. Police barricades and control of access have led to a standoff between civil rights groups and security forces in recent days.
Still, CJP organizers say momentum remains with the student movement despite the restrictions. The fact that senior ministers are willing to have structured discussions shows the level and resilience of youth mobilization across the country, Das said. Now it’s time for the afternoon meeting. Political observers see the need for a written agreement as a critical test for both sides: whether the government will comply with the written terms or whether the CJP will continue its nationwide candle march call for 6:00 PM today.
