Kangana Ranaut contested the Mandi Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh in 2024 on the Bharatiya Janata Party ticket. She defeated Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh in her first election by 74,755 votes. Ranaut won by 537,022 votes and Vikramaditya Singh by 462,267 votes.

Supporters say winning an election by more than 74,000 votes cannot reasonably be described as an effortless or accidental achievement.
