The inaugural Flower Show held at Bengaluru's iconic Cubbon Park by the Horticulture Department has concluded with a staggering success, drawing massive crowds and generating significant revenue. This marks the first time the Horticulture Department organized such an extensive flower exhibition within the premises of Cubbon Park.
The exhibition, strategically timed to coincide with Kannada Rajyotsava (Karnataka Formation Day) and Children’s Day, ran for eleven days. This duration allowed hundreds of thousands of Bengalureans and visitors to witness the vibrant display of floral arrangements, thematic exhibits, and exotic plants that transformed the park.
The event garnered a phenomenal overall response, with official figures revealing that a total of 6,10,040 people visited the flower show during its eleven-day run. This massive turnout underscores the public's appetite for such aesthetically rich cultural events in the heart of the city.
The total visitor count comprised 3,25,355 adults and 2,84,685 children, indicating the show's wide appeal across all age groups. The family-friendly nature of the exhibition made it a major attraction for residents seeking recreational and cultural outings during the festive period.
Financially, the event proved highly lucrative for the Horticulture Department. Over the eleven days, the department collected an impressive total revenue of approximately ₹61,06,960 (Sixty-one lakh, six thousand, nine hundred and sixty rupees) through ticket sales.
The final day, Sunday, witnessed an extraordinary surge in attendance, reflecting the strong weekend appeal of the show. On Sunday alone, a massive crowd of approximately 1,26,500 people visited the exhibition, contributing significantly to the overall figures.
This single-day rush on Sunday resulted in a collection of ₹12,66,000 (Twelve lakh, sixty-six thousand rupees) in revenue. The successful execution and overwhelming public reception of this inaugural event in Cubbon Park, as confirmed by the Horticulture Department, paves the way for making the flower show a regular feature on the city’s cultural calendar.
