Heavy rain hit Delhi-NCR on Monday, August 24 and flooded the area as traffic was slow because heavy rains hit capital city Delhi-NCR when Delhi-NCR went down with heavy rains, causing traffic to slow down and roads to flood and traffic to be waterlogged causing traffic to become heavy.
Gurugram in the National Capital Region (NCR) was another city with heavy rains that disrupted everyday commuting.
The downpour occurred in the midst of strong monsoon conditions in the area. Rain and thunderstorms were observed in Delhi-NCR and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued weather warnings for parts of Delhi. Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds were also expected in the area.
Waterlogging Disrupts Gurugram Traffic
Heavy rainfall brought waterlogged parts of Gurugram to a standstill with traffic in the vicinity of Gurugram, as drivers and office commuters tried to navigate the roads and roadways flooded as people driving at night as rainfall caused the roads and roadways to be flooded with water and office commuters in Gurugram were poured out.

Delhi-NCR Traffic Takes A Hit
The impact was not restricted to Gurugram. Heavy showers were causing waterlogging and traffic congestion in parts of Delhi. People in Delhi were posting on social media that flooded roads and slow-moving traffic had become a reality.
The weather office warned of heavy rainfall in some areas, along with thunderstorms, lightning and winds of around 30-40 kmph.
The recent spells have once again highlighted the troubles faced by Delhi-NCR during monsoon rains. With waterlogging the main roads can get stuck, travel times are longer, and traffic congestion in these areas is worse.
Commuters Advised To Stay Alert
With more rain expected, commuters in Gurugram and other parts of Delhi-NCR may have more problems to contend with, especially in Delhi and other parts of the region. People traveling by road should check traffic conditions on a road journey before starting and avoid flooded roads and low-lying areas as much as possible.
