The sensational murder case of Telangana YouTuber Vaishnavi took another violent turn after her husband and murder accused Chittari Hari Babu was hacked to death at Nizamabad on Thursday. Hari Babu, who had recently secured bail in the case of Vaishnavi’s death, was attacked in broad daylight while he was out in the city. According to local reports, Hari Babu was living with his mother in Nizamabad after being released on bail. He had started selling maize near Raja Rajendra Chowrasta to make money, sources said. On Thursday evening he was near a roadside food stall when a car arrived at the spot.

As many as three people were involved in the attack, and one of them got out of the car and attacked Hari Babu with a sharp weapon. He suffered grievous injuries and died at the scene of the attack. Some of the CCTV footage from the area is now being examined as part of the investigation.

Nizamabad police have collected evidence from the crime scene and shifted Hari Babu’s body for postmortem examination. CCTV recordings have also been examined to try and understand the sequence of events and identify those involved. A murder case has been registered and special teams have been formed to trace the attackers.

The latest killing is closely associated with the earlier death of Vaishnavi, a young YouTuber from Telangana. Vaishnavi was found dead in her family home in Jagtial district on March 17, 2026. At that time, police identified Hari Babu as the prime accused and arrested him in connection with the case. He was granted bail in July while the legal proceedings were ongoing.

The original case had also stemmed from dowry-related harassment allegations. Police and Vaishnavi’s family had claimed disputes around adding more dowry had a part to play in her death. At the time Vaishnavi was pregnant when she was killed, investigators had also looked into her relationship with Hari Babu and members of his family.

These allegations were part of the case against him and should be considered in the context of the final determination that the evidence could be brought to court.

Hari Babu’s killing has now brought into focus a possible revenge angle. Police first suspected that Vaishnavi’s family may have been involved in the attack. A video later posted on social media by a man identified as Vaishnavi’s brother Santhosh claimed responsibility for Hari Babu’s death and claimed revenge for his sister’s death. But the video itself and the claims made in it are still under police inquiry and investigation.

According to The Indian Express, CCTV footage showed an attacker approaching Hari Babu with a sickle and repeatedly assaulting him. Santhosh said in a selfie video that he had been waiting for months and was ready to surrender to police. These allegations are still being investigated by authorities and do not by themselves establish the full circumstances or legal responsibility for the killing.

That is why the case has now become a chain of two separate murders with Vaishnavi’s death still providing the background for the latest murder. Police are now trying to determine who planned and carried out the attack on Hari Babu, whether others were involved and whether the alleged revenge motive is supported by evidence.

CCTV footage, forensic evidence and witness accounts will be examined to establish the sequence of events surrounding the Nizamabad attack. Law enforcement will also verify the claims in the circulating video and determine the legal responsibility of those involved. The investigation is going on.
