Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA K Sanjay has said the party will continue to fight the cases filed against its leaders while also questioning the Telangana government on issues concerning the people of the state.
Sanjay, who spoke in Hyderabad on the ongoing Formula E race irregularities case, claimed that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s government was targeting members of the opposition.
“The only thing Revanth Reddy seems to be doing is targeting and disturbing the opposition,” he said.
He said the BRS would not step back from the political obligations because of the legal proceedings against its leaders. “We will fight every case that is filed against us, but at the same time we will continue to question the government on behalf of the people of Telangana,” he said.
The Formula E case relates to alleged financial irregularities in the Hyderabad Formula E race during the last BRS government.

The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) filed a chargesheet in March 2026 and named BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao as the chief accused along with former senior IAS officer Arvind Kumar, former HMDA chief engineer B.L.N. Reddy, former sports consultant Kiran Malleswara Rao and Formula E Operations Limited.
In the ACB’s case, payments of around ₹55 crore were made in connection with the Formula E event, and investigators alleged that needed approvals and financial procedures were not followed. The allegations are under the Prevention of Corruption Act and sections relating to criminal breach of trust and conspiracy.
The case has become a major political issue in Telangana; BRS leaders have repeatedly questioned the attitude of the government towards the investigation.
BRS leaders have called it politically motivated while the government and investigating agencies maintain that there is a matter of financial and procedural mismanagement. This is a dual perspective, and the charges against the accused have not yet been resolved by a court.
K. T. Rama Rao appeared in Nampally ACB Special Court in July 2026, when he was asked to give a personal bond of ₹1 lakh and the court made it adjourned. The case continues to be heard in the judicial process.
Sanjay’s latest remarks underline the BRS position that legal proceedings will not stop the party from raising issues against the ruling Congress government.
That statement comes at a time when the Formula E case is being considered by the judiciary, so it is connected to Telangana politics and legal processes.
