The fee change will affect the candidates who will be appearing for the SSLC exam as well as those who have already started the registration process. For all candidates, the examination fee has been increased from ₹710 to ₹746.

The decision means that students and their families will have an additional financial burden in terms of the SSLC examination formalities.

SSLC Examination Fee Increased

Under the new structure, the examination fee for SSLC candidates has been increased by ₹36. The earlier fee of ₹710 has now been revised to ₹746.

The School Education Assessment Board ordered the revised rates to be implemented in the current academic year.

Moreover, candidates who have already completed their registration will also have to pay an additional ₹76 as per the revised fee instructions.

Registration Fee Also Revised

Along with the examination fee, the SSLC registration fee has also been increased.

The registration charge had been fixed at ₹248, but now it has been changed to ₹260. This is a price increase of ₹12.

The revised charges will apply to the SSLC candidates enrolled for the respective categories.

Revised Fees Based on Number of Subjects

The fee structure also depends on the number of subjects for which a candidate is appearing.

According to the revised details:

Examination Category Revised Fee
One subject ₹470
Two subjects ₹587
Three or more subjects ₹790

In this regard, students and parents are advised to check the specific category before paying the examination fee.

Decision to Take Effect This Year

The School Education Assessment Board has decided to implement the 5 per cent fee increase from this year itself. It covers examination-related charges and registration fees.

The move comes after the state education system has already seen changes in examination-related fees at the pre-university level. So the latest SSLC fee revision will be closely watched by students, parents, and schools.

Schools are expected to communicate the revised fee structure to eligible students and guide them through payment of the additional amount, particularly those whose registration has already been completed.

Students and Parents Need to Note Revised Charges

With the new rates, students appearing for the Karnataka SSLC examination will need to account for the higher examination and registration charges while completing the required formalities.

For students already enrolled in the earlier fee structure, the instruction to pay an additional ₹76 will be particularly important. Schools and candidates will need to follow the payment instructions issued by the education authorities.

The fee increase is applicable from the current year according to the order of the School Education Assessment Board. All payment deadlines and procedures will be communicated to the respective schools and education authorities.
