A tragic accident in Telangana’s Mahabubnagar district claimed the life of a DCM truck driver and killed about 150-200 goats after the vehicle collided with an electric pole on National Highway 44 at Bhoothpur village in the early hours of Thursday.
The accident happened at around 4 am when the DCM truck, which was transporting a large number of goats, crashed into an electric pole on the highway.
The diesel tank of the vehicle burst. Sparks after the collision quickly set fire to the truck.
The driver died on the spot in the accident. All the goats being transported inside the vehicle were also burnt alive as the fire rapidly spread through the truck.
After receiving information about the incident, fire tenders rushed to the scene and began working on the fire to control it. Firefighters eventually managed to douse the flames and prevent the situation from worsening.
Police were also at the accident site and took control of the scene. The body of the driver was shifted for post-mortem examination as part of the formal procedure.

The extent of the damage was still being assessed by the Mahabubnagar district fire department. The fire chief said the exact extent of the loss had not yet been determined.
The reason for the collision and the overall damage caused by the incident is also being investigated.
Local residents and drivers travelling on the National Highway 44 reported the accident. The extremely bad damage to the vehicle and the burning truck was a sign of just how bad it was.
The DCM truck lost control in the accident and collided with the electric pole, and investigators are looking into how it happened.
Details of the deceased driver and the circumstances before the accident will be released as the investigation continues.
The incident also shows that transporting large numbers of livestock by road is risky, and the road traffic on national highways in particular is heavy and dangerous.
