A tragic road accident has claimed the life of a newly married woman in Mysuru district just 15 days after her wedding, and her family and the local community are in shock.

The deceased has been identified as Meghana, a resident of Makanahundi village in Mysuru taluk. Initial information suggests that she had been married to Puneeth, a resident of Bidargoodu village, only two weeks ago.

Bike Skids Near RT Nagar

The accident occurred on Thursday evening near RT Nagar as the couple was going home on a motorcycle.

According to initial reports, the bike skidded on the road, causing both riders to fall. Meghana suffered severe head injuries in the accident and died on the spot.

She was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, police said, which is believed to have contributed to the fatal injuries, they said.

Husband Injured

Meghana's husband, Puneeth, sustained injuries to his head, hands, and legs in the crash.

He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is now being treated. His condition is said to be stable, doctors said.

Wedding celebrated 15 Days Ago

The tragedy was all the more tragic since the couple had only been married for 15 days. What they saw as the start of a new chapter in their life ended in an unimaginable tragedy.
