According to local reports, the man was involved in the incident from at least 5 a.m., creating a tense atmosphere at the station as railway officials, police, and emergency personnel worked to get him out. High-voltage railway lines close to the site made the rescue operation more urgent.

The officials switched off the power to the overhead electrical system as a precautionary measure and to prevent a potentially fatal electrical accident so that rescue teams could approach the man safely. Railway personnel, Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), and fire department teams were involved in the operation.

Trains Temporarily Halted

The incident also affected train operations at Renigunta Junction. The trains going from the Tirupati-Renigunta route to Chennai, Hyderabad, and Vijayawada were temporarily stopped as the power supply was switched off and rescue operations were ongoing.

One local report said train movement through the affected section was disrupted for about two and a half hours, beginning at about 5 a.m. and lasting until 7:30 a.m. The interruption was described as lasting about an hour, but the exact time length and stages of the operation could differ.

The railway authorities put both passengers and staff safety first in the situation. With the overhead electrical system temporarily de-energised, officials were able to push emergency staff closer to the affected area.

Rescue Teams Launch Operation

Rescue officials tried to persuade the man to come down safely, rescue officials said. When communication continued to work to resolve the situation, fire department personnel put a safety net in place near the railway tracks to protect everyone, they said.

According to the reports, the man moved to a stationary train during the incident. This made the rescue process more challenging as the overhead electrical infrastructure was close. The power shutdown remained, and RPF, GRP, and fire personnel had to follow up.

After a long rescue effort, emergency workers were able to get the man under control and get him to safety. He was taken for medical examination at a railway hospital, according to reports.

A report from Deccan Chronicle said RPF, GRP, and fire department personnel worked together for nearly an hour to bring him down safely after the power supply was switched off. Police started investigating the circumstances around the incident.

Assam Resident Taken Into Custody

The man identified in local reports was from Assam. Details about his identity and circumstances leading up to the incident were still being investigated.

Some reports indicated that the man did not initially share very specific details with police and then got into an argument with officials after he was down. Police will try to identify him and what caused the incident.

Police are currently investigating if there are other causes for his actions. There are media reports that he may be drunk or mentally ill, but these are not facts and should not be taken as fact without a good assessment by the government.

Railway Services Resume

Once the man had been safely rescued and the area was secure, the railway authorities restored the electrical supply and normalised train operations. But the disruption caused many passengers and railway workers to feel anxious at one of the critical railway points in the region.

Renigunta Junction is a great railway connection between Tirupati and several other large cities in southern and central India. Any temporary shutdown of the overhead power system could impact multiple services passing through the station.

The incident finally ended without loss of life as railway officials and emergency personnel coordinated the rescue. The police are looking into the circumstances of the incident.

The episode also stressed the need for quick railway staff, RPF, GRP, and fire services coordination during the time of emergency on railway premises. With a strike on a power supply immediately and a careful rescue operation being run, officials were able to reduce the danger to the individual, passengers, and train operators and halted the train movement.
