A shocking incident involving the alleged assault of a college student in Madhya Pradesh’s Satna district has come to light after a video of the incident went viral on social media. A second year BBA student has claimed that she was taken to an isolated location and assaulted by four female students after she refused to befriend or engage in a relationship with a male student.
The incident took place on 5 August 2026 according to the complaint. The victim and the four girls accused of assaulting her are reported to be students of a renowned private college in Satna district. Police have filed an FIR and are taking into account the claims and counter-allegations in order to take action against them, said the police.
The incident started when the BBA student’s close female friend had called her to Semariya crossing at around 2.30 pm, the student said. Then the friend had her on a scooter and said they were going to visit a relative. She was instead taken to a deserted spot near Nagar Van, or the city forest, she said.
In fact, when the student arrived at the spot, three other female students were waiting there. The complainant says the four girls confronted her over her refusal to form a relationship with a young male student who had been attempting to contact and disturb her on WhatsApp.
College Student Alleges Assault
The student claimed the confrontation turned violent when she continued to refuse the demand. According to her complaint, the four girls verbally abused her and physically assaulted her at the isolated location.
A video of the purported incident has since been posted on social media. The video shows a group of girls (with their faces covered with scarves) surrounding and attacking the student. The victim has alleged that she was repeatedly punched and kicked.
She also said the attackers used a wooden stick during the assault. The video shows one of the girls trying to strangle her, she said. Another girl can be heard threatening her during the incident, she said.
The student claimed that the assault continued until she agreed to apologise to the male student in a video call. The girls had said she would have to get into a relationship with the youth and had said he would provide her money, she said.

The complainant has also claimed she sustained injuries to her right ear, back and other parts of her body as a result of the assault.
Police Register FIR
After the incident and the video was circulated, an FIR was registered by the police. However, according to information available, none of the four girls or the male student identified with the incident had been detained at the time of reporting.
Satna district police superintendent Hansraj Singh confirmed that a case had been registered. Speaking to the media, the officer said the complainant and the girls accused of assaulting her were known to one another and were friends.
Police are checking the allegations as well as counter-allegations made by the people involved in the case. Further action will likely be taken based on the results of the investigation, it was said.
The fact that the individuals involved reportedly knew each other has become one of the main priorities of the police investigation.
