Secret Gold and Mineral Survey Continues in Kushtagi, Koppal | Graphite Found

Exploration and survey work for gold and other minerals has been consistently underway in the Kushtagi region of Koppal district, Karnataka, since 2020. This significant research activity is aimed at identifying and assessing potential mineral deposits in the area. The ongoing survey covers several villages within the Tasavaragera jurisdiction of Kushtagi taluk, specifically mentioning Amarapura, Narinala, and Killarahatti as key sites. It is also noted that similar research was previously conducted in the Narinala village in 2021.

The geological survey is not limited to just gold. Officials have also received information suggesting the presence of graphite quarries in the region, broadening the scope of the exploration. The research work is actively continuing, indicating a thorough and methodical approach by the concerned authorities to ascertain the mineral wealth of the area.

However, the findings of this exploration remain shrouded in secrecy. Pushpalatha Kavalur, an official from the Department of Mines and Geology, confirmed that the department is unable to disclose any information regarding the research. She stated that the details are confidential due to directives received from the Central Government. Consequently, any specific information regarding the extent of the deposits or the success of the survey cannot be made public at this time, maintaining the sensitive nature of the project.
