That gives eligible people another chance to fill out and submit their Enumeration Form so their names are still on the electoral roll ahead of the elections.

The SIR is an essential exercise in the Election Commission to update voter lists by verifying the info of the existing voters, making new and eligible voters and removing duplicated or wrong voters.

The extension of the deadline is to help the people who were not able to get there due to technical difficulties, unawareness, or lack of time to do so.

The biggest advantage of this year’s revision process is that voters can complete the Enumeration Form directly from their smartphones. In many cases we don’t need to go to election offices and the whole thing is much faster and more convenient.

How do you fill out SIR 2026 Enumeration Form on Your Phone

Follow these simple steps:

  1. Open the official voter services portal or the Election Commission's voter services mobile application.

  4. Open the Enumeration Form and verify your personal information such as name, age, gender, address, and constituency.

  7. Review the entered information carefully to avoid mistakes.

Why Completing the Form Is Important

The Enumeration Form helps ensure that your voter information is correct and current. If your details are off or incomplete, you could face difficulties during elections. The revision process is also essential to maintain a clean and transparent electoral roll by identifying duplicates or outdated records.

The Election Commission has encouraged all eligible voters first-time voters, senior citizens, students, and individuals who have recently moved their residence to complete verification prior to the revised deadline.

Who should fill the form

Existing voters checking their information.

  1. Citizens who have moved to a new address.
  2. Newly eligible voters who have turned 18.
  3. Voters seeking corrections in personal information.
  4. Individuals whose names need to be verified during the SIR exercise.

With the deadline extended, voters have another opportunity to complete the process without rushing. Citizens should not wait until the last day to submit as traffic on the portal might slow down the submission process.

Electoral participation through digital platforms, the Election Commission’s efforts to ease access to voters’ services is not going away.

The extended Enumeration Form extension will give residents the opportunity to participate online in an efficient and effective way and they will be able to exercise their democratic right without feeling any inconvenience.
