A video of police officer T. Narasipura Dhananjay has been reported after an FIR was filed against the YouTuber who recorded and posted the video on Facebook. The video linked to the Ganesh procession in the town was followed by a lot of debate and political responses as it spread on social media.
As we know, Manju, the YouTuber, is currently speaking out against Inspector Dhananjay and has made serious accusations against him. Manju claims he was not acting independently when he observed the meeting and recorded it. In fact, he claims the inspector himself had invited him to come along and record the discussions on Ganesh immersion. He also said he was contacted by a police constable (Yashwanth) and asked to come to the police station for recording.
Manju contended that the meeting dealt with Ganesh procession issues and discussions about a local mosque. He said the recording was conducted openly and with the knowledge of those present. He says no objections were raised during the filming and that he was not asked to stop recording. He says he was not warned against uploading the video on social media or any other platform.
The controversy started when recordings of the meeting went viral online. Inspector Dhananjay was heard talking about Ganesh processions and activities around a mosque as the video was circulated, and it was considered controversial.
