Local people from several districts in Tamil Nadu should be prepared for a scheduled power outage on Thursday, July 9, 2026, as the state electricity department will perform maintenance work at substations as part of its regular monthly maintenance work throughout the state.
The Tamil Nadu power utility does periodic maintenance every month to ensure the smooth functioning of power infrastructure and to minimize the risk of unexpected breakdowns. As part of this maintenance exercise, electricity supply will be suspended for around eight hours in some localities spread across Coimbatore, Cuddalore, Erode, Kanyakumari, Udumalaipet and Vellore districts.
