On March 15, 2026, Moin, a Class 12 student of Shahpur Nangli village, along with a friend went on the expressway to record a reel. Reports say he was standing at the roadside while a friend videotaped him, drinking an energy drink. All at once, a speeding truck plowed into them. Moin died on the spot following the heavy impact. His friend accompanying him at the time, holding the camera, was critically injured and was transported to the hospital. A video of the accident has appeared online that depicts the moment, which has also disturbed viewers.

Locals and law-enforcement officials promptly took notice of the crash. The scene of the incident was confirmed by police and the truck driver was put under investigation. The video spread very quickly, with messages about the risks of filming reels in unsafe places raised. The video’s coverage went viral. Families and community members mourned and urged young people to avoid doing so.

This tragedy is more than a single case; it is emblematic of the broader trend in which young people risk their lives to share social media content. Highways are built for speed; they're not built for shooting or standing near the traffic.

  • Social Media pressure: A need for likes and followers, which often drives youth to risky behaviours.
  • Public Safety: Highways are not safe places where to film reels or videos, authorities say.
  • Awareness: The accident is a reminder that entertainment should never come at the expense of lives.

Md Moin’s death is a tragically sad, heartbreaking one and a reminder of just how dangerous filming reels on highways can be. The injuries of his friend also emphasize the danger. It has prompted calls for tighter awareness campaigns and better use of social media. The message for young people is clear: No reel or video is worth risking your life.
