The viral footage said waterlogging had affected the road after heavy rainfall, making traffic movement difficult.

A motorcyclist is riding along the waterlogged stretch when a truck starts to move towards the bike in an alarming manner.

The biker does seem to have escaped the hit, but the motorcycle itself wasn’t so lucky. The truck did damage the motorcycle, it was claimed. What has also offended people is the fact that the driver continued driving without stopping to check on the motorcyclist or the condition of the vehicle.

The video has caused strong reactions online, as social media users have criticized it as dangerous and irresponsible. Some viewers saw it as road crime, and have urged the authorities to identify the truck and examine the cause of the collision.

Although the location, identity of the driver and reason for the collision were not established from the viral video alone, the footage has raised concerns for road safety during heavy rainfall. Waterlogged roads can reduce visibility, affect vehicle control and make it much harder for drivers and two-wheeler riders to react rapidly.

Such conditions can be particularly dangerous for motorcycle riders. Even a small hit can throw a rider off balance water-filled potholes and slippery surfaces can make avoiding larger vehicles difficult.

The driver has also been accused of leaving the scene without checking on the biker. Safety in any road accident is the first and foremost thing that a driver should do, and emergency help is necessary if possible.

Social media users are calling on authorities to make use of CCTV footage and evidence if a formal complaint has been filed.

We recommend drivers to be extra careful during heavy rains as soon as possible. Drivers would have to keep a safe distance from two-wheelers, slow down and be alert on waterlogged roads.

There may have been little to no official proof based on the viral video of the incident. Further investigation could be done to determine whether the collision was intentional, accidental, or caused by unsafe driving.
