Guwahati: Upper Assam continues to face severe flooding after days of heavy rains and the deluge has disrupted rail and road links in many regions and has the authorities on high alert.

The continuous rainfall has led to widespread waterlogging in urban and rural areas and a number of low-lying areas are already inundated. Floodwater has inundated residential neighborhoods, agricultural fields and public infrastructure and many residents are forced to move to safer places.
