England Too Strong for Croatia

England sent a strong message to the rest of the tournament with a commanding 4-2 win over Croatia. England conceded twice but the Three Lions were in charge for most of the game and they had their strength against their opponents.

Harry Kane led the charge with a brilliant brace, again proving that he is one of the most dangerous strikers in the world of football. Kane’s finishing and leadership made for a lot of problems for the Croatian defence.

Jude Bellingham, England's midfield player, continued his impressive form, with another goal to add to his World Cup tally. Marcus Rashford also got on the scoresheet to complete an excellent attacking display from Gareth Southgate's side.

Croatia did manage to make two goals but they failed to really come up with a goal; it was never a team capable of turning the game around in the match. England held possession, created more chances and set the tempo in the match. The victory puts England firmly in the early stages of the race for the World Cup title and will be one of the top three favorites.

Colombia Register Comfortable Win Over Uzbekistan

Earlier in the day, Colombia began their campaign in style with a convincing 3-1 victory over Uzbekistan.

The South American side had a good team spirit and they showed fantastic attacking skill as three players found the net. In the end, the balanced performance ensured they were rarely troubled by Uzbekistan and remained in control for a long time.

Colombia’s attacking unit was sharp and efficient in converting their chances while staying disciplined defensively. The victory is a great start to this group and gives them much momentum for the next round of group-stage games.

For Uzbekistan, the defeat is a first blow but it is possible to recover from it.

Ghana Edges Past Panama in Hard-Fought Contest

In the other match that was completed in the day, Ghana won a narrow but crucial 1-0 victory over Panama.

Unlike England’s attacking display and Colombia’s victory, this was a tight fight for patience, discipline and determination. Ghana was able to work hard at every opportunity and finally get the breakthrough which separated the two sides.

Panama fought hard and kept up until the final whistle, but Ghana’s defensive organization and composure kept their advantage and they won all three points.
