Japan dominated from the start till the finish and showed great teamwork, good attacking and finishing. The star striker Ayase Ueda got two goals to take his team’s charge forward. His brace underlined Japan’s attacking punch and their status as one of the most dangerous teams in the tournament. With this big win Japan sent a message to all the others.
In another match Ecuador and Curacao held on for the points after a hard-fought draw. Both teams created opportunities in the game but not quite got that one.
