Rishabh Pant’s post on social media just after a late night last night made him feel like he was in trouble with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for the very first time. The wicketkeeper-batter had posted on his social media account, directly asking for help in purchasing land in his home state of Uttarakhand to help him acquire land in the state’s capital.
Pant had always thought he was supposed to receive land from the state as a reward for promoting Uttarakhand. All his long and frustrating efforts were turning out to be a challenge, he said, so he'd like to put his base back to his native roots and live closer to his people whom he fondly referred to as his “pahadi people.” Pant built the foundation of his great cricket career and he has represented Delhi in domestic competitions and even got to the national capital, but he now wants to find a permanent home in his home state, where he wants to start building his first home.
At the time of his late-night public appeal, Pant was overseas and was involved in a warm-up match between India and a Sri Lanka Cricket XI team in Colombo. Despite his busy international schedule, the cricketer chose to openly voice his feelings and also wrote to the state leadership on the digital platform.

Pant asked for the chief minister's health in a post and how he has gone about getting his life back to the mountains and how hard it has been for him to get there. Pant said he had found it very difficult to find an appropriate and large enough property to house himself on his own, with all his own money. Pant also expressed his love for the area and he was asking for administrative help to make the land acquisition process simpler and to clear the clearances and the administrative delays in land he had been promised during his previous promotional campaign for the state.
He said Pant will not leave behind his roots and he is ready to put past obstacles aside to return home to help Uttarakhand and work for Uttarakhand. Given that his public message has been gaining widespread attention online and has received so much attention on social media and local communities, no response from the state administration is forthcoming regarding the cricketer's heartfelt appeal to return to his native roots.
