Vrindavan: Just two days after earning their second consecutive IPL trophy, star cricketer Virat Kohli and wife Anushka Sharma traded the roaring stadium for serene spirituality. They were seen visiting the renowned spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj at his Radha Keli Kunj Ashram in Vrindavan on Tuesday.
A Quiet Retreat After a Loud Victory. Following Royal Challengers Bengaluru's clinical victory over the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2026 final, Kohli smashed an unbeaten 75 off 42 balls. The couple arrived at the ashram at 7 am. They were in their simple, clean shirts and face masks, and walked barefoot to the ashram in order to be away from the bright lights of the post-match celebrations.
Videos circulating on social media show the couple walking calmly through the ashram premises. Kohli was seen leaving the spiritual guru’s ashram with chandan and tripund markings on his forehead and had a book gifted at the ashram. The couple didn’t just stop there; they walked almost 150 meters to visit the ashram of senior saint Shri Hit Govind Sharan Maharaj and pray for his blessings. A Tradition of Faith
This is not an unusual trip; the couple is on their seventh visit to Premanand Maharaj since their first meeting on January 4, 2023. Virat and Anushka have made frequent trips to Vrindavan in the last two to three years—with their busy schedules and London residence in mind in the key moments of their lives, whether for the birth of their son Akaay or the beginning of the IPL season.
Earlier this year, at Akshaya Tritiya, they were seen at a satsang in the same ashram. Premanand Maharaj has asked the couple, “Are you happy?” and they had nodded and answered affirmatively.
Celebrations and Spirituality
Before their spiritual journey, Anushka had posted a heartfelt message celebrating RCB's historic win. In a loved-up picture, she planted a kiss on Virat's forehead as the couple held the trophy together. In another video, Kohli sang and danced happily at the team party while Anushka recorded him.
RCB’s win is historic, which makes them the third team after CSK and MI to successfully defend an IPL title. But Virat and Anushka’s success wasn’t just about the trophy; it was a moment to offer gratitude.
